The 1990 Constitution of the Fiji Democratic Republic guarantees freedom of religious belief and freedom to manifest and propagate religion and belief in worship, teaching, practice or otherwise. Every religious community is entitled to establish educational institutions at their own expense and to manage any educational institutions which they wholly maintain.
The government respects the rights of religious freedom and that the government does not restrict foreign clergy and missionary activity or other typical activities of religious organizations.
