Antigua and Barbuda

The Constitution of 1981 proclaims that the nation acknowledges the supremacy of God. It guarantees freedom of conscience and peaceful assembly. Section 11 specifies that people are free to choose their religious belief, to change their religion, and to manifest their faith in public or private, alone or with others. No person may be required to receive religious instruction or take part in a religious observance other than his own without his or his parents’ (if under 18) consent. Ministers of religion are prohibited from being appointed as senators or elected as members of the House.

The the rights of religious freedom are respected in practice by the government.
